Hey Mama produces wildcrafted, sun dried, raw sea moss. The company has two products: Wildcrafted Gold Sea Moss, and Wildcrafted Purple Sea Moss. The term Wildcrafted refers to the fact that the sea moss is cultivated in its natural or “wild” habitat. Hey Mama sources Seamoss that are sustainably cultivated. There are two methods of preparation: Stove top method
  • Rinse Seamoss until thoroughly clean.
  • Place Seamoss in a pot, add water until the Seamoss is covered.
  • *optional* Add spices to taste (Cinnamon, bay leaves, ginger).
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Seamoss will be tender and the liquid will thicken. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • Refrigerate to form gel.
  • Add Seamoss gel to favourite recipes such as soups, teas, smoothies, juices and more.
No Heat method
  • Rinse Seamoss until thoroughly clean.
  • Place Seamoss in a bowl and add water until covered
  • Cover the bowl and allow to soak for 4 to 6 hours. Seamoss will increase in volume
  • Rinse Thoroughly
  • Blend Seamoss with water until smooth and thick
  • Add Seamoss gel to favourite recipes such as soups, teas, smoothies, juices and more.
    • Seamoss is a product from the sea and so the white residue which may appear on the purple seamos is merely sea salt as a result of the drying method.
Dried Seamoss
People who are allergic to shellfish may have an allergic reaction. Store in a cool dry place and room temperature and store Away from sunlight.
